Setting up the Motion Detection page.

As each location is different and each user has different requirements on what they are looking to capture, the cameras default Motion Detection settings may not work for your location. To setup the motion detection page you should first log in to the cameras web interface in a browser, we recommend Firefox for this. For a guide on how to do this click here.

Once logged in go to Setting, Task, Motion Detection.

The default setting for the motion detection page will be quite sensitive and will have Window 1 covering the entire area.

To adjust the size of the detection window you should click and drag from the lower right corner of each window. To move a window you should click and drag on the blue bar on the top of each window. You can have up to four windows enabled however these must not touch or overlap.

The sensitivity slider controls how sensitive the camera's sensor is to motion. Moving this to the right will raise the sensitivity and moving this to the left will lower the sensitivity.

The Threshold slider controls the amount or voume of motion required to trigger a recording. When the blue bar goes past the Threshold slider the camera will be triggered. Moving the slider to the left will lower the threshold meaning a smaller amount of motion will trigger a recording, moving the slider to the right will raise the threshold meaning it will take a larger amount of motion to trigger a recording.

We recommend starting with both sliders set close to the middle, then adjust depending on the number of recordings you are getting and the recordings you are looking to capture. If you are getting too many recordings then you should lower the sensitivity by moving its slider to the left and raise the threshold by moving its slider to the right. If you are not getting enough recordings then you should increase the sensitivity by moving its slider to the right and lower the threshold by moving its slider to the left.
